This report looks at the role of lawyers in tackling corruption, from reporting suspicious activities to the enforcement and punishment for the offence.

Arnold and Porter LLP with 13 other law firms around the world examined 17 jurisdictions: Argentina, Australia, Bulgaria, Brazil, Chile, France, Germany, Denmark, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Pakistan, Singapore, Switzerland, Sweden, UAE, USA, and the UK.

The report highlights the various approaches to anti-corruption rules and prescribed sanctions under both ‘hard law’ (binding legislation and regulation) and ‘soft law’ (industry or bar principles and guidance), and judicial decisions and industry body sanctions following corrupt practices.
