A 6.9 magnitude quake hit the Himalayan region on September 18, 2011, killing people in India, Nepal and the Chinese region of Tibet.
The epicentre was in India's northeastern state of Sikkim, and the tremor was felt as far away as Bangladesh and the Buddhist kingdom Bhutan.
