CARE UK’s advocacy strategy aligns broadly with these thematic areas. As CARE develops its 2030 strategy, CARE UK will increase our work on humanitarian and GiE advocacy on major crises including in Syria and Yemen, and a global campaign focused on GiE and climate change.
About you
Ideally, you will be a post graduate student in a relevant discipline, with knowledge of conflict, fragility, and humanitarian response. You will have a strong grasp of gender issues and feminist advocacy and policy, research experience and some advocacy experience or aptitude, good stakeholder and relationship management skills including cultural and emotional intelligence (CQ and EQ). You will possess excellent writing skills and an ability to communicate in plain, jargon-free English.

About the role
You will support the team to achieve against its GiE and humanitarian advocacy strategy, including helping deliver events, supporting diplomatic and public-facing advocacy, helping with advocacy elements of a global campaign for CARE, producing policy briefings, sharing research and reports and media and communications work.
The internship will provide you with the opportunity to gain a good insight into working in an INGO that is part of a diverse global confederation and give you leading-edge information on humanitarian response and fragile states. You will also gain an understanding of broader GiE advocacy and policy issues including in major crisis contexts.
