The Programme Quality Team is at the centre of CIUK’s new strategy for the delivery of high quality and impactful programming within CARE. The team delivers high quality technical assistance to CARE offices around the world in the areas of Women’s Economic Empowerment, Inclusive Governance, Emergency Shelter and Gender and Resilience.

The team also provides thought leadership, learning as well as a global perspective to CARE programmes. Women’s economic empowerment is a key part of the CARE International 2020 Programme strategy. Within this strategy, there is an ambition to ensure that 30 million women have greater access to and control over economic resources. CARE International UK is responsible for leading the work on Women’s Economic Empowerment on behalf of CARE International.

 

About the role

This role of Business Engagement Manager is a unique and exciting role that will focus primarily on the flagship DFID programme Work and Opportunities for Women (WOW). CARE is an implementing partner of the programme which aims to enhance the economic empowerment of 300,000 women working in global value chains by 2022. The WOW programme builds and implements partnerships with multi-national companies and global organisations and works with women in garments, agri-food and personal care value chains. CARE helps manage and deliver some of the multi-national partnerships in Africa and Asia.

 

About You

The Business Engagement Manager will support the delivery of the WOW programme at CARE International UK. They will be responsible for leading WOW partnerships with multi-national companies and global organisations. They will also provide WEE technical assistance and programme design support.

You have experience in working with Ethical Trade and Global value Chains as well as in advising on and implementing development programmes in global value chains involving the private sector. You have experience in monitoring and evaluating projects/programmes and demonstrating impact and drafting publications/ blogs/communications for external audiences.

You are able to work, negotiate with and influence a range of corporate and institutional partners. You have strong project management and budgeting skills and are able to operate efficiently and reliably without additional administrative support.
