Concern Worldwide (UK) seeks an experienced Senior Policy Officer (Hunger and Malnutrition in Fragile Contexts) to join a small but passionate Policy and Campaigns team on a permanent basis.

About the role:

The Senior Policy Officer will lead UK advocacy on hunger and malnutrition, with a focus on Fragile and Conflict Affected States (FCAS).  They will develop and implement advocacy strategies for Concern Worldwide (UK), based on a sound understanding of the nexus between hunger and malnutrition, conflict, and climate change in fragile contexts, pushing for policy change, actions and outcomes that will have a positive impact on the lives of poor people, and those displaced and vulnerable in the countries where Concern works. They will work closely with the Senior Policy Adviser (Hunger) based in Dublin, to coordinate and strengthen wider organisational advocacy on tackling global hunger and malnutrition.

About you:

You will have experience working for an international development NGO, donor, research organisation or UN agency in a policy position where you have a strong grasp of the global development and humanitarian landscape and ongoing discussions. You will have experience of hunger and/or nutrition advocacy, programmes, or research, ideally in relation to fragile and conflict affected states. Experience of advocacy strategy planning and delivery, policy analysis and influencing, ideally in the UK context. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent analytical and research skills with the ability to translate evidence into clear and concise accessible advocacy outputs.

About our office:

Concern UK is currently working remotely in line with government guidelines, however when our offices re-open it will have safety measures in place and we will continue our trial of  hybrid working. This will be a blend of weekly office attendance and UK based remote working.

Our office is located 10 minutes’ walk from Clapham Junction Station, a riverside office with great views and tranquil surroundings.
