Josh Koenig

Program Officer, North America


Josh joined the Thomson Reuters Foundation in September 2019. As Programme Officer for North America and the Caribbean, he develops TrustLaw’s relationships with our social enterprise, non-profit, and legal members across the region.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Josh worked as a Programme Associate for the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, the Chicago-affiliate of the US civil rights non-profit. While at the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee, he supported a successful campaign to amend the Cook County Human Rights Ordinance to add additional protections for individuals seeking housing with criminal backgrounds.

In 2018, Josh participated in the inaugural cohort of the Obama Foundation’s Community Leadership Corps, a 6-month programme for young leaders in the US aged 18-25. He has also volunteered with the Shriver Center on Poverty Law, and worked as a political organizer.

Josh holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College. He has lived in Australia and China in addition to the United States, and studied in Spain and the United Kingdom.
