Emily Donnan-Courtade

Senior Programme Officer, Global Service and Community


Emily joined the Thomson Reuters Foundation in October 2019. Her role is Senior Programme Officer in the Global Team - this involves the development of the global TrustLaw community, measuring programme performance and outcomes, and exploring new support to TrustLaw’s members. She has a special focus on women’s rights and gender equality.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Emily lived in Geneva where she worked as a Junior Advocacy Officer for the NGO Plan International. She has also completed an internship at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, where she assisted with the coordination of the Human Rights Council and the creation of evaluation guidelines for project reporting.

Emily has a legal background and holds a bachelor’s degree in Law and French and a first class master’s degree in Human Rights. Before moving to London, she worked for various UK law firms’ in areas such as Intellectual Property and Medical Law. Outside of work, Emily enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors.
