Contract length: 12 months


The role

Under the supervision of the CAR Health and Nutrtion Technical Advisor, the Health Cluster Co-Lead works in close collaboration with the Health Cluster Lead organisation (WHO) to coordinate and plan all health-related humanitarian interventions in CAR. Key responsibilities consist of the organisation of Health Cluster meetings, joint sectorial and multi-sectorial assessments, as well as updating and implementing the health sector strategy.

The Health Cluster Co-Lead is responsible for representing Save the Children at the national and sub-national Clusters, for high-level coordination with government representatives and partners, including advocacy on universal access to healthcare and strengthening of the health and nutrition national systems.


Qualifications and experience

Essential

  • Full medical degree and / or MA in Public Health
  • Minimum of 6 years international experience working in emergency repsonse contexts or fragile states, with at least 3 years of experience in management and/or coordination of health programmes.
  • Excellent analytical capacity
  • Experience of working with the Health Cluster
  • Ability to work in both French and English (written and spoken)

Desirable

  • Demonstrated experience in health and project management
  • Previous health coordination experience for an international NGO
  • Previous experience working for Save the Children
