Islamic Relief Worldwide is seeking a Head of the Programme Quality and Advisory Department to be based in the Birmingham Office. The post holder will deal with all aspects of programme quality from policy, technical design, review & evaluation and learning, leads on the IPD quality assurance, covering IRW’s current global £100m+ humanitarian and development programme portfolio. The post-holder will ensure that IRW’s is of the highest impact, fully accountable, technically sound and produces learning for IR and the sector.
The Head of Programme Quality and Advisory Department Direct the IPD Quality Assurance programme to ensure that IRW humanitarian and development programming is at least ‘fit for purpose’ from the outset and ideally ‘right first time’, by managing the quality of inputs at the conceptual stage through programme policy, prior to the service delivery through technically-grounded conceptualisation and inspection processes that both ensure services are according to specification and a feedback loop is created to improve future interventions.
The successful candidate would set ambitious and challenging goals for themselves and their team. You will Take responsibility for your own personal development and you will encourage your team to do the same. The Post Holder will be approachable, a good listener and being able to build and maintain two-way effective relationships with colleagues, members, external partners and supporters. The successful candidate will be able to work cross-culturally, values diversity and different people’s perspectives.
