About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a senior leadership position with Oxfam in Yemen. Characterised by fragility, a challenging political transition process, and a protracted humanitarian crisis affecting over half the population; our Yemen response remains one of the Oxfam biggest humanitarian responses across the confederation.
The Deputy Country Director for Yemen will be responsible for the scale-up of the humanitarian response in Yemen. They will also have overall lead on the humanitarian programme strategy and will line manage the PMs for Sana’a and Aden and the technical advisers (WaSH, EFSVL, Protection, MEAL, Gender).
They will also deputise for the CD and play a leading role in keeping the organisation informed about the progress of the response, and will have a key role along with the CD in external engagement coordination. They will also be the prime focal point with Global Humanitarian Team for resourcing.
Who we are looking for?
We are looking for an experienced leader with substantial management experience gained from working in humanitarian Programmes. The ideal candidate will have experience, knowledge and passion for working in the Middle East and will have a proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams.
In addition, they will have excellent representation and influencing skills, the ability to represent at a senior level and substantial experience of successfully delivering strategic and large programmes and working in large and complex humanitarian responses.
