Finance Director

The holder will provide overall leadership, oversight and management support for all aspects of financial management in the National Office. This position is part of the Senior Leadership Team of the National Office, with a focus on ensuring accountability, stewardship, coordinating planning and budgeting processes, providing accurate financial data and developing financial strategy that best serves the National Office strategic and program objectives. Responsible for the finance staff capacity building, the development and implementation of good internal controls, compliance at all levels, and utilization and safeguarding of assets according to World Vision approved policies and procedures

 

  • Provide strong and positive leadership to the finance department ensuring competent and motivated staff are hired and retained, providing efficient delivery of services.
  • Ensure partnership finance policies and procedures are understood by Senior Management, Operations/Technical staff, Communities, Local Partners and Board.
  • In collaboration with other National Office Directors, advise the National Director on strategic resource acquisition and allocation in line with RWG/VIR (Regional Working Group /Virtual Investment Review) recommendations approved by the Regional Leader.
  • Design and manage systems, policies and procedures that provide appropriate levels of security and control of WV assets, resources and operations.

 

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum 5 years experience in finance position with medium business/medium NGO/government agency. Minimum 2 years experience in finance management position. Experience of treasury activities, establishment and monitoring of budgets and an understanding of data processing concepts and systems is preferred. Experience with humanitarian aid in-country is a plus. Demonstrate Christ-centered life and work. Understands and is committed to WV’s vision, mission and core values PREFERRED: MBA in Finance, MSC in Finance/Accounting/Auditing. ACCA CIMA or CPA.

 

 

 

 

Response Manager

The holder will provide strategic leadership to the program design, management, implementation and coordination of relief/recovery activities for the World Vision South Sudan programs.

  • Provide leadership to the HEA team to ensure relief program implementation in a coordinated and effective manner in close coordination with the Regional Director and Regional Leader.
  • Lead the strategy and planning process of the Cat III response based on the program strategy.
  • Lead and guide relief program design processes. This process involves maintaining a credible and high quality relief program, and will include needs assessment, project design and plans, proposal writing, with subsequent regular reporting to donors and World Vision Support Offices.
  • Ensure that all emergency relief responses have clear exit or transition strategies established well in advance of the completion of those responses, and oversee the implementation of those exits or transitions to longer-term development programming.

 

Required:

Postgraduate qualification in Humanitarian Emergency Affairs and International Relations, social sciences or a related field. Experience in management and knowledge of accounting methods and procedures. Clear understanding of the functioning of major UN agencies, international donors and governmental agencies in their respective programs, approaches and standards. Ability to relate and represent WV to these major program partners, in a professional manner. Experience in relief and development work using an approach of facilitation and empowering local communities.  Ability to work without supervision, and demonstrate initiative and innovation. Proven analytical and problem solving abilities. Requires good interpersonal skills. Good oral and written communication skills in English. Flexible, able to adapt style and management approaches to varied work contexts. Ability to train and supervise a multi-cultural staff. Must be prepared to travel and work in harsh and basic conditions. PREFERRED: At least 5 years field experience in a developing country programming contextpreferably in humanitarian relief and experience working in conflict/war zones with international consortiums.
