About the Role

The Bangladesh programme has recently expanded and now comprises over 2,000 staff members delivering sexual and reproductive health services through 141 clinics and 600 outreach sites as well as conducting research studies, and trialling innovations designed to improve performance and reach. The programme is well respected in Bangladesh and there is great potential to develop further as a social business.
The Country Director is responsible for delivering results for women and their families, driving programmatic excellence and implementing best practice at scale. They provide high quality services where they are needed the most, and their work directly contributes to preventing unnecessary deaths and making a sustainable impact on the lives of thousands of people every year.

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have an understanding of the development sector and an entrepreneurial, business oriented approach. You will have experience leading an organisation to the scale of Marie Stopes Bangladesh, executing successful change management projects and rolling out systems in complex environments.
You will have worked in challenging environments, designing and delivering strategic and annual business plans and income generation through donor funding, and/or commercial activities. You will have strong financial experience managing and improving the bottom line and the ability to generate, track and analyse management information and client data to inform management decision-making. In addition you will be a motivational leader with strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to manage complex internal and external stakeholders. You will be motivated to deliver tangible results for the organisation and to manage change successfully. The successful candidate will be pro-choice.
