The role
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning Manager

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Manager will be expected to lead on Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning system design and implementation, evaluations, budgeting, recruitment as well as support proposal writing and logframe development at national level. In most circumstances, the post holder will be expected to mentor and/or capacity building existing country programme staff.



Qualifications and experience

Essential

  • At least one year of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning experience in humanitarian contexts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject
  • Experience working through systems of community participation and accountability
  • Demonstrated monitoring and evaluation skills, including planning/participating in evaluations
  • Ability to work both in an advisory and in an implementation capacity
  • Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach staff
  • Experience representingSave the Children in external forums.
  • Ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and project reports
  • A high level of written and spoken English
  • Commitment to the aims and principles of Save the Children. In particular, a good understanding of the Save the Children mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support

Desirable

  • Previous first phase emergency response experience
  • Language skills in Ukrainian or Russian
  • Experience or knowledge of working and living in Ukraine or conflict areas.
  • Specific experience of working in consortia projects.
