Would you like to join a fast-paced global team campaigning to improve the lives of South Sudanese people? Are you able to develop in-depth analysis and clear, compelling policy, and work with others to bring about positive change to the crisis in South Sudan?

As a Humanitarian Policy Lead for Oxfam in South Sudan, you will tackle issues such as what needs to happen to end people’s suffering? How can people better access humanitarian aid? How can they be better protected from violence? What could the future of South Sudan look like, and what needs to happen to make this a reality?

Based in Juba with travel to other areas of South Sudan and global capitals, you will work with Oxfam’s campaigns, media and programme staff and partners in South Sudan, and with lobbyists from New York to Addis Ababa.   You will lead policy development in South Sudan, providing expert analysis and advice on a range of humanitarian issues, and develop lobby strategies. You will form alliances and represent Oxfam to UN and government officials and diplomats.

To carry out this influential and exciting role, you’ll be an experienced policy analyst that has spent time in humanitarian or conflict settings. You will be an excellent communicator and strategic thinker with strong interpersonal skills. You’ll have the ability to analyse complex humanitarian and political issues and devise appropriate solutions. You’ll also have experience of international humanitarian contexts and policy issues, and of basing analysis on an understanding of gender and conflict dynamics.
