The role

Based in Goma

Save the Children is hiring a consultant to lead the planning and facilitation of a series of INEE workshops to contextualize the INEE Minimum Standards for North-Kivu in DRC. These workshops will target the Ministry of Education personnel and the UN, local NGO, and INGO staff in North Kivu. The consultant will work in close collaboration with Save the Children, the INEE Deputy Coordinator for Minimum Standards, and any other partner of the Working Group to prepare for, facilitate, and report on the training and contextualization sessions.

The consultant is expected to draw from his/her previous experience using and facilitating workshops related to the INEE Minimum Standards.


Qualifications and experience

  • Fluent (writing, reading and speaking) in French mandatory and one additional UN language desired (English preferred).
  • A Masters degree in a relevant field required: education, international affairs or political science.
  • Minimum five years relevant work experience required.
  • Strong knowledge and solid understanding and practice of the INEE Minimum Standards (process and product), Sphere, and the humanitarian community. Applicants without EiE and INEE Minimum Standards knowledge and experience will not be considered.
  • Experience facilitating INEE Minimum Standards trainings and workshops, and strong facilitation skills required.
  • Ideally previous experience in leading Contextualisation Process of INEE MS elsewhere
  • Field experience in emergencies and fragile states preferred.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in DRC preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills, including experience managing multiple complex projects and deadlines involving different partners.
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills and proven networking and facilitation skills working with multiple stakeholders, including UN agencies, donors, local communities, NGOs and governments.
  • Ability to be flexible and work well in a fast-paced environment with limited daily supervision.
