We are currently looking to hire an External Engagement Manager, who will be located in London/Birmingham, UK (with significant international travel). The External Engagement Manager will plan and carry out the PR strategy to enhance the reputation and increase the exposure of the organisations great work around the globe in the eyes of the global media and external stakeholders that include but are not limited, to multilateral, multinational and governmental organisations, corporations, philanthropists, and community leaders. The post holder will promote and support a culture of effective and coordinated public relations and media work with consistent messaging across the Islamic Relief family. S/he will ensure strategy is critically analysed, regularly reviewed and updated, with due consideration to benchmarking exercises to enable improvement.
The successful candidate will have a Degree or qualification in PR, International Relations or other degree is highly desirable. The post holder will have experience of successfully leading and managing PR in an INGO or global corporation and have experience in successful high-level institutional and governmental engagement, in multiple geographies. S/he will have experience of developing and establishing international strategies and work plans in PR. The post holder will be IT literate with a command of MS Office applications, in particular PowerPoint and Excel. The candidate must have exceptional oral and written presentation skills in English.
