We’re looking for an enthusiastic and capable individual to support Oxfam’s campaigns objectives in Scotland through the growth and strengthening of our campaigns network. The right candidate will enjoy and excel at face-to-face engagement and relationship building, and be willing to travel within Scotland to build relationships with young people, students, adults and communities in support of Oxfam campaigns.
What are we looking for
The right candidate will be enthusiastic about Oxfam’s goals and campaign issues, including tackling inequality, climate change, and poverty at home and abroad, whilst promoting gender justice. Previous experience in and knowledge of some or all of these issue areas would be an advantage.
The role
This is a new role which will allow Oxfam Scotland to expand the reach and depth of our public engagement offering. The post-holder will manage and grow Oxfam Scotland’s relationships with a range of groups including but not limited to student societies, local campaign groups, and individuals. The post-holder will also support broader campaigning activities including events and supporter communications.
The post-holder will act as primary contact for Oxfam campaigners and campaign groups, providing them with campaign resources and occasional face-to-face contact, as well as inspiration and support as they work to achieve Oxfam's UK campaign objectives through local and national action.
Achieved fully, this role will allow Oxfam Scotland to broaden and deepen our relationships with groups and individuals across Scotland through a well organised campaigns network. This will strengthen the power of people in Scotland, with a particular focus on people with experience of poverty, to engage with Oxfam campaigns, take meaningful action and influence change, so we can tackle the root causes of poverty together.
