China Programme Manager
Based in Vienna with frequent travel to China
Saferworld is an independent non-governmental organisation that works to prevent and reduce violent conflict and promote cooperative approaches to security. We work with civil society, governments and international organisations to encourage and support effective policies and practices through advocacy, research and policy development, and through supporting the actions of others.
The successful candidate will lead on the implementation of Saferworld’s China programme policy research and dialogue, capacity building, networking and advocacy activities. S/he will be responsible for the design, delivery and management of the China programme’s commitments and priorities, working closely with both governments and representatives of civil society in China, Europe and Africa.
The successful candidate will have strong knowledge and experience in one or more of Saferworld’s core strategic areas and an excellent understanding of the Chinese policy environment. S/he will have experience of relating to government officials at a senior level and a proven ability to undertake strategic planning, programme development and evaluation and organisational learning.
