Background/IRC Summary:  

Reporting to the Senior Director of Talent Management, this position is responsible for leading efforts that maintain and enhance ongoing learning within IRC. The Talent Management Director will define, create, implement and evaluate programs that facilitate professional development, leadership development, and continuous learning for all employees.  This role is global and impacts all IRC staff.

Job Overview/Summary:

The Talent Management Director is responsible for improving the productivity of IRC staff. This position is responsible for the effective development, coordination and presentation of training and development programs for all staff. The Director assesses organizational-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for staff. This position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance and recognize performance.

Major Responsibilities:

Management and Leadership Development

  • Coordinate the global Management Development Program including liaising with clients for creating the workshop schedule, ensuring skilled facilitators are available and confirmed to facilitate and managing all communications with stakeholders
  • Develop and manage a strong training team (i.e. hires, trains, appraises, rewards, motivates, disciplines, etc.) ensuring that appropriate subject knowledge and skills are developed within each individual.
  •  Create, develop and update all training materials including trainer guides, videos or audio, participant materials and evaluation systems
    • Oversee the coordination of each and every workshop:
      • Hold pre-workshop coordination calls with host location to review all logistics information
      • Hold pre-workshop coordination calls with facilitators to walk thru day to day agenda
      • Prep all pre-workshop materials such as orientation (with proper logistics information) as well as emails
      • Ensure all materials are shipped to arrive at workshop location ahead of time (accounting for customs)
      • Check in with facilitators daily for feedback/questions
      • Send out all communication (both pre and post) to participants, liaisons and facilitators
      • Ensure all payments are coding correctly

Performance Management

  • Oversee the implementation of the global performance management process
  • Research and design/update appropriate organization-wide performance and quality training.  Facilitate PMP briefings/trainings.
  • Liaise with technology team to develop the best online system to accomplish PM goals.
  • Conduct post-PMP debriefs and oversees organization-wide survey; Prepare annual PMP report.

Orientation & Professional Development

  • Oversee IRC’s professional development programs (communicate philosophy, refine as needed, research best practices, offer solutions, serve as a resource to colleagues).
  • Research and implement orientation best practices and serve as a resource to colleagues.
  • Maintain and implement global orientation program which includes presentations, videos, posters, checklists, games, prizes and online new hire portal. 
  • Oversee and run the Field Access Program (a program designed to give staff the opportunity to travel to IRC field locations in order to enhance their learning and development)
  • Design and lead blended delivery learning programs on many topics including Creating a Motivating Environment, Delegation & Accountability, Achieving Results, Setting Objectives and Giving & Receiving Feedback
  • Oversee online learning management system.
  • Provide support to client-led learning initiatives such as identifying external resources; developing technical competencies; one-on-one coaching.

Supervisory Duties: Supervise and mentor Talent Management  Specialist and intern.

Job Requirements: 

Education: Bachelors Degree

Work Experience: 6-10 years

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies: Communication, Project Management, Facilitation, Ability to Prioritize/Time-Management, Learning Orientation

Language Skills: French, Arabic a plus
