WORK CONTEXT

 

Cesvi operates in India since early 2000 and registered a Liaison Office based in Chennai in 2007.Cesvi works in partnership with local NGOs and responds to their capacity building needs, carries out monitoring and evaluation of the implemented programmes and networks with other stakeholders for facilitating synergies.

The two main programmes currently implemented are:

-A Programme dedicated to orphans and vulnerable children offering services of shelter care and informal education in Tamil Nadu;

-An EU-funded programme aiming at facilitating the access to existing public schemes in 5 Districts in Karnataka.

Cesvi is currently expanding its activities in Maharashtra. Cesvi's aim is to develop a new strategy with a focus on Protection of Children and Women as well as Access to Education.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

The collaboration is expected to start in October.The main duty station is in Pune, Maharashtra, where Cesvi is establishing a new programme.The PM responds to Cesvi Desk Officer and works in close collaboration with her. The PM is ultimately responsible to develop a new strategy towards an expansion of the Programme in Maharashtra.The PM coordinates with the Liaison Office for ensuring a correct implementation of the current and future projects in the area.Main tasks:

-Participates to the development of Cesvi strategy for the area.

-Carries out feasibility studies for the implementation of the strategy and assists local partners in the preparation and presentation of project proposals towards possible donors.

-Contributes in the identification and the development of new project proposals in the social sector and/or in the area of intervention.

-Carries out feasibility studies in other areas eventually identified, where opportunities of further development emerge.

-Identifies potential risks, and rolls out contingency plans.

-Ensure an efficient office organization and a correct registration of project documentations.

-Supervises the implementation of the approved Projects in the area.

-Collaborates with the Liaison Office for ensuring a smooth implementation of the approved Projects, according to the Project documentation, the donor's requirements, Cesvi and Local Government rules and procedures.

-Guarantees project reports respecting the deadline required the Cesvi HQ and the donor.

-Reports monthly to Headquarters.

-Manages the relationship with the local NGOs partnering with Cesvi in the area of Pune/Mumbai.

-Maintains a relation with local donors.

 

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

-University Degree in Social Studies or related studies;

-Minimum 5 year experience in managing social programs in an international context;

-Experience in working with local NGOs and CBOs with a participatory approach;

-Project writing skills and experience in strategy development;

-Networking skills and management skills;

-Communicative, analytical and problem solving personality;

-Dynamic and willing to take initiative;-Flexible and with a positive attitude;

-Ability to manage workload and stress and work in a challenging environment;

-Fluency in written and spoken English;

-Computer literacy.

 

DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES

 

-Experience in social programs with focus on protection of children and women;

-Minimum 3 year working experience in India;

-Knowledge of the NGO context in Pune/Mumbai and/or New Delhi;

-Sound administrative skills and abilities.
