The role

The HR Manager will assist the HR Director on assessments, HR strategy, coordinate recruitment, develop robust systems, policy and practice on people management in a complex emergency. The role is expected to work closely and mentor the national HR Manager to manage the day to day management of the HR function, such as attendance management, leave management, recruitment and selection, employee insurance and payroll. Ensures the effective implementation of HR policies and procedures and will be accountable for ensuring the implementation of HR policy and practice consistent with Save The Children and compliant with local labour regulations. Supervise in effective implementation and management of HRIS . The HR Manager will be required to make decisions independently within the scope of the HR function, influenced by human resources issues, policies, and compliance with local Yemen labour law. The HR Manager will provide direct support and supervision to HR staff with the Sana’a main office as well as dotted line supervision to the HR function within the field offices.

The role is for a period of one year.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resources/ Business Management/ Administration or equivalent
  • At least 5 years work experience in Human Resources
  • Previous experience in international organization/company is preferable;
  • Cross-cultural experience, understanding and sensitivity;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills;
  • Computer literate, with high degree of proficiency and productivity;
  • Ability to work comfortably and effectively, either at own initiative or under direction;
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English, written and spoken
  • Ability to work in a team/independently.
  • Previous HR experience in INGOs is preferable.
