The Foundation is recruiting a UK Programme Officer for TrustLaw. The position will be based in the Thomson Reuters Canary Wharf office in London and is responsible for our programme in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

TrustLaw is the Thomson Reuters Foundation's global pro bono service that connects NGOs and social enterprises with the best law firms around the world. Launched in 2010, TrustLaw has grown to include 2,900 members in 170 countries, including over 515 law firms and in-house legal teams and over 2,400 NGO and social enterprise members. Our mission is to spread the practice of pro bono worldwide to drive social change.

Based in London, the successful candidate will support TrustLaw’s programme in the United Kingdom with a strong focus on managing the NGO and social enterprise members in our network, and increasing TrustLaw’s impact across the region. We are looking for the ideal candidate to lead these efforts.

Responsibilities

This will include:

  • Supporting TrustLaw’s largest regional portfolio of law firms, corporations, referral partners, NGOs, social enterprises and other key stakeholders.
  • Recruiting, vetting, managing and engaging NGO, social enterprise, and legal team members of TrustLaw through strong one-to-one relationship management to ensure TrustLaw regional quality and growth metrics are met.
  • Supporting multiple cross-border research and policy advisory programmes that address the most critical needs facing our NGO and social enterprise members.
  • Devising and implementing a regional strategy to expand TrustLaw membership, ensuring we serve the best NGOs and social enterprises, as well as the strongest law firms and corporate in-house legal teams.
  • Contributing to the TrustLaw global annual strategy.
  • Seeking out and developing fruitful relationships with potential partners and members to further the mission of TrustLaw.
  • Maintaining a high profile by representing TrustLaw and the Thomson Reuters Foundation by speaking publicly on our work at panels, conferences, or other speaking engagements.
  • Creating and executing a robust communications strategy that includes member events and promotion of TrustLaw publications,

The candidate

  • Will have strong experience working with the charitable, philanthropic or social enterprise sector, with an understanding and interest in the pro bono sector.
  • Will have an understanding of the legal industry internationally.
  • Will have experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders, from senior corporate executives and partners of top law firms to social entrepreneurs, NGOs and any other beneficiaries of our services.
  • Will have a top-performing post-graduate background in the field of social change, policy management, development or law.
  • Proven organizational and project management ability and experience of managing competing priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Experience conducting due diligence, monitoring the effectiveness and impact of NGOs and social enterprises.
  • Experience leading large scale trainings, events and opportunities for a wide membership base.
  • An exceptional communicator with strong writing skills and extensive public speaking experience.
  • The candidate should have well-established professional networks in the UK focused on social impact.
  • Is ambitious, dynamic, and creative and with proven strategic thinking and management skills.
  • Experience in Salesforce would be favorable.
  • Fluent in English, other languages favorable.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.

Salary: The salary is relative to the charitable sector and will be commensurate with experience.
