Passionate about supporting citizens to hold their governments to account? Keen to promote the voice of the marginalised and ensuring that citizens actively participate in decision making that affects their lives? If so, Oxfam GB`s new Governance Officer role could be for you. Sitting within the recently established Programme Strategy and Impact Team, this position will support and build the quality of governance programming from across Oxfam affiliates and partner organisations. You will actively support the development and operation of Oxfam International`s new Knowledge Hub on Governance and Citizenship and will play a critical role capturing programme successes, communicating this internally and externally, and integrating programme learning across Oxfam`s governance portfolio.

About you: You are a mid-level development practitioner with substantial governance expertise, including at country level. You are adept at advising programme teams on substance and process and are keen to play a supporting role to take Oxfam`s governance and citizenship work to the next level. An excellent communicator, you will be able to build strong internal and external networks and strengthen the connections between governance and other areas of thematic programming. Willing to travel and with an appreciation of political sensitivities in an international context, you will show initiative to drive change within your sphere of influence.

Oxfam works in more than 70 countries and a simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do: there`s enough wealth in this world to go around. It`s not unfortunate that people live in poverty - it`s unjustifiable. Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we`re looking for yours.
