DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Journalism and Media Training team wishes to engage a Programme Co-ordinator for a minimum nine-month contract from May 19 (maternity cover).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Assisting with the launch of new projects by helping the team identify opportunities and preparing funding proposals and tender documents.
- Providing hands-on coordination for existing journalism and media programmes and courses including:
- Organise flow of work, prioritise tasks and activities and ensure that tasks are carried out in a timely and effective manner
- Liaise and maintain relationships with existing clients and new clients on each training project
- Co-ordination of suitable consultants, service agreements and other course logistics.
- Developing new client relationships through provision of continual high-quality service and networking opportunities.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Extremely organised, with attention to detail
- Plans, organises and prioritises workload and demands
- Tackles sudden changes of plan and is good at solving problems, quickly putting in place all necessary actions to ensure smooth running of the project
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates drive and enthusiasm and is able to work on their own initiative
- Has experience of working in media and/or an understanding of it, including new trends
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Good experience in a similar role

DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Experience in managing small-scale projects globally with similar requirements
- Knowledge of local media in different countries.
- An interest in new markets and new trends – with a view to grow Thomson Reuters Foundation’s client list.
- Experience in reaching new audiences and proven ability to bring in new clients.
- Self starter who works effectively in a diverse team
- Arabic language skills will be an asset to this role
