Legal Health Check Clinic

At this free workshop, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the TrustLaw service, as well as some of the key legal issues of concern to NGOs and social enterprises. We will also help you to identify your organisation's particular legal needs and explore how pro bono support can help you achieve even greater social impact.

Depending on the specific legal needs of participating organisations, topics covered may include anything from addressing common operational challenges such as commercial contracts, employment law, intellectual property or corporate structuring to supporting your organisation's advocacy efforts as it works to influence public opinion and change laws.

Additionally, as part of the Clinic, TrustLaw will take each organisation through a Legal Health Check. This tool covers a broad spectrum of legal topics: from setting up a new legal entity and understanding your obligations towards employees, to protecting your ideas and branding. Ensuring that your organisation is “healthy” will save time and resources in the future – helping you to streamline operations and maximise funding opportunities.

ASEAN Social Enterprise Structuring Guide

Navigating the legal structures available to them is one of the greatest challenges faced by aspiring social entrepreneurs. That’s why TrustLaw and the British Council initially went to work on developing a practical guide for social enterprises that answers key questions they may have. TrustLaw then connected the British Council and legal partners to advise social entrepreneurs on legal structures across eight countries in the ASEAN Region:  Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
