We are looking for a Senior Governance Officer who will embody the values and aspirations of Oxfam at a pivotal time of transformation for the organisation.

 

The Role

 

You will be responsible for ensuring a strong framework is in place for efficient, effective, and transparent governance throughout the organisation, managed well between trustees and the executive

 

You will work support Oxfam GB’s Chair, Board of Trustees, governance committees and Leadership Team. It involves working closely with our lawyers and governance professionals across the global Oxfam confederation to ensure a coherent, consistent approach to achieve high standards of accountability, compliance, and transparency.

 

What we are looking for

 

Most of all, we’re looking for a candidate with integrity and resilience who can build mutual two-way relationships with the wider divisions and the Oxfam confederation. You will care about Oxfam's mission to end poverty and are personally aligned to the values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion in all you do.

Our ideal candidate for the role will also be:

  • Experience of preparing, attending,and minutingat Board level in large or medium sized organisations (e.g.,with over 100 employees, over £30m turnover, or significant complexity)

 

  • Experience of working with Chair and Senior Executives

 

  • Experience in working in a team environment, with remote team members

 

  • Ability to give practical advice to leaders of an organisation on running an effective, culture-lead and transparent governance

We believe flexible working is key to building the Oxfam of the future, so we’re open to talking through the type of flexible arrangements which might work for you. The role may be suitable as full time, part time or as a job share. It will require some days in the office each month but could be mainly home-based.
