Lynnet Onyango

Legal Officer & In-House Counsel


Lynnet joined the Thomson Reuters Foundation in early 2020 and holds a dual role as in-house counsel for the Thomson Reuters Foundation and legal officer for TrustLaw. She supports TrustLaw by facilitating pro bono assistance from charities and social enterprises from around the globe.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Lynnet worked as an Associate at David Kiptum & Co. Advocates and briefly at Sam Ogola & Co. Advocates both boutique law firms in Nairobi. Before this, she worked in-house at UAP Old Mutual Group, a leading investment, retirement, and insurance group operating in East Africa. She also gained experience in the non-profit sector working as a Program Implementation Assistant at the International Development Law Organization (IDLO).

Lynnet is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Nairobi.
