Emma Hunt

Legal Programme Manager, North America and the Caribbean


Emma joined the Thomson Reuters Foundation in January 2022. As Legal Programme Manager for North America and the Caribbean, she oversees the network of TrustLaw’s members and handles legal pro bono requests from non-profit organizations and social enterprises. Emma identifies strategic human rights issues, and scopes and manages the development and publication of legal research for the social sector. Emma and her team regularly host legal workshops and events in collaboration with law firms and corporate partners.

Emma has extensive experience working in the law and justice and social impact sectors. Prior to joining the Foundation, she worked with the World Federation of United Nations Associations on policy and advocacy around Sustainable Development Goal 16 on peace, justice, and inclusive societies. She has worked on ending violence against women with UN Women’s East Asia Regional Office, and on access to justice programs in Asia and the Pacific for the Australian Aid Program. She has also worked in human rights and social impact policy, and as a legal mediator for Australia’s A-status National Human Rights Institution.

Emma is a qualified lawyer and mediator in Australia, and holds a Masters of International and Human Rights Law from the University of New South Wales.
