Fiona joined the Thomson Reuters Foundation in June 2018 as a Programme Officer. Based in Bangkok, she manages relationships with TrustLaw’s network of NGOs and social enterprises in Asia Pacific, with a particular focus on East Asia, and connects them with legal professionals to promote legal pro bono practice in the region. She also supports strategic legal research programmes on regional and cross-border issues.
Fiona is passionate about social justice and empowering marginalized groups. Prior to joining the Foundation, she specialised in human rights education and developed trainings across Hong Kong, Thailand and Myanmar that empower refugees and migrants, persons with disabilities, vulnerable youth and ethnic women on law and human rights. She also worked with various NGOs in Hong Kong and Thailand, including the UN Human Rights office (OHCHR) for Southeast Asia. Through her experiences, she has developed a keen interest in peace and reconciliation, and climate justice and sustainability.
Fiona completed a double degree in Bachelor of Arts in Literary Studies and Bachelor of Laws at the University of Hong Kong, and a Master of Arts in Social Justice at Kilns College. Originally from Hong Kong, she speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
