Work with a team that has unique expertise combining the power of journalism and the law to advance media freedom, foster more inclusive economies, and promote human rights.
About the role
We are seeking a highly experienced Responsible AI consultant to play a crucial role in supporting the launch and establishment of the AI Company Data Initiative (AICDI), which seeks to improve access to data on corporate AI adoption to drive transparency and best practice. AICDI addresses the lack of global data on how companies use AI and the impact of AI on people, society, the environment, and human rights. Working with companies and investors, AICDI is building a comprehensive global dataset to promote responsible AI adoption. Through a free voluntary survey grounded in UNESCO’s Recommendation on the Ethics of AI, AICDI guides companies in identifying risk factors and empowers them to take action.
Please note, this consultancy contract is expected to last an estimated 6 months with a commitment for 2-3 days a week.
As the Responsible AI Consultant, in this project you will be closely working with the Responsible Business team to fulfil the following tasks:
- Providing strategic guidance in the development of AICDI
- Deliver a Responsible AI research strategy based on the AICDI data and in collaboration with key partners with a shared mission to advance responsible AI.
- Facilitating stakeholder engagement and capacity-building with AI leadership within companies and investors.
- Supporting efforts to mobilize philanthropic funds to advance AICDI’s mission and sustainability.
- Generating topics and content on key issues related to responsible AI to support Thomson Reuters Foundation’s focussed thought leadership and public engagement.
- Contribute to the preparation materials for AI focused webinars and identifying and inviting relevant speakers
- Identify sector trends on AI reporting and how this relates to AICDI data.
- Identifying relevant corporate training topics and supporting the curation of training content to enable companies to engage effectively with AICDI.
- Providing input into responsible AI programming across other TRF workstreams, including resilience of independent media and access to law.
- Representing TRF as a speaker at external events to share insights on AI ethics and responsible corporate AI adoption.
- Supporting the Director of Responsible Business and CEO in preparing for external speaking engagements, including briefings, messaging, and presentation development.
Required deliverables
The consultant is expected to provide:
- A comprehensive region by region roadmap for AICDI’s global implementation.
- Policy and governance recommendations for AI ethics and corporate digital integrity
- Training materials and workshops for participating companies and investors looking to upskill on responsible AI issues related to the AICDI.
- Inputs and design recommendations to new Responsible AI programmes including civil society adoption, AI supply chain labour rights programming and other public interest AI research proposals.
To secure the role of Responsible AI Consultant, you will likely have:
- Expertise in AI ethics, governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in corporate AI policy development and digital integrity frameworks.
- Knowledge of fairness, bias mitigation, data protection, and human rights in AI.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
To apply for this role, please submit a proposal including:
- A detailed CV outlining relevant experience.
