AI Company Data Initiative

The AI Company Data Initiative (AICDI) is building a dataset to drive responsible corporate AI adoption.

The AI Company Data Initiative (AICDI) is building a global dataset to drive responsible corporate AI adoption. Through a voluntary survey, we support businesses and investors to navigate the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence.

We guide companies of all sizes to assess how AI is embedded in their operations, products and services, empowering them to mitigate risks to people and society. Data is shared with a group of investor signatories to inform their stewardship and drive long-term value.

About

Businesses across the globe are rapidly embracing AI tools to innovate and improve efficiency. Yet there is limited data on corporate AI adoption, and the impact of this technology on people, society, the environment, human rights and data rights.

As AI advances, the private sector is critical to making sure it is adopted responsibly. The AICDI survey encourages companies to consider a range of risk factors, including the impact of AI on the workforce, ensuring data privacy and mitigating bias. Developed with leading companies, the survey is grounded in UNESCO’s Recommendation on the Ethics of AI, the first global standard on AI ethics.

Through the AICDI we are building a dataset on corporate AI adoption, to improve transparency and create a benchmark for best practice. Empowered by this data, we can:

  • strengthen corporate AI governance
  • shape responsible investment decisions, and
  • contribute to the conversation on public interest AI.
