Overview
TrustLaw is transforming the pro bono landscape by expanding access to legal support for civil society organisations and social enterprises at the frontlines of social change and by helping law firms and in-house legal departments grow their pro bono programme worldwide. With the support of our Giving Programme partners, we strive to increase access to law and strengthen civil society to confront some of the greatest challenges of our time.
Giving Programme Partners
We are deeply grateful to our partners who provide ongoing support to the TrustLaw service across the globe. Their generosity is critical in enabling us to continue mobilising pro bono to serve the growing and critical needs of the most vulnerable communities around the world.
Thanks to TrustLaw, we were able to reach new heights in our journey of working to end gender-based violence. We co-hosted a legal clinic and received six-figure value pro-bono work by leading law firms … Not only did this positively impact our annual income, but all the legal work also strengthened our alliance with our partners while delivering top-quality work to the most vulnerable members of our community.
Why contribute to the TrustLaw Giving Programme?
As the world faces global challenges such as closing civic space, declining democracy, systemic inequality and climate and biodiversity breakdown, the role of pro bono lawyers has never been more essential to support those working to build more inclusive, equitable and sustainable societies.
The generosity of our Giving Programme partners is transformational for TrustLaw, enabling us to drive innovative projects and initiatives designed to strengthen civil society, respond to ongoing global threats, and increase access to legal support for vulnerable communities.

Making an impact
The Giving Programme helps TrustLaw scale and deepen its programming to strengthen civil society and the pro bono ecosystem by:
- Expanding TrustLaw’s network to facilitate greater access to legal support for civil society organisations, particularly in the face of closing civic space and attacks on human rights.
- Enhancing the Index of Pro Bono, the only global tool for benchmarking worldwide trends and best practices in pro bono.
- Scaling the global resources for the pro bono community to foster pro bono thought leadership, best practice adoption, and knowledge exchange across the global pro bono sector.
- Developing the Legal Service for Independent Media to facilitate legal support for journalists and media organisations to better protect and defend against growing legal threats to media freedom and democracy.
- Producing tools, guidance and quality feedback to support our legal community in better measuring, tracking and communicating pro bono impact.
To help us deliver this ambitious agenda, please consider become a Giving Programme partner and making an annual contribution to the TrustLaw service.
