Why partner with us?
For more than 40 years we’ve supported independent journalism globally. Since 2010 we have run TrustLaw, the world’s largest pro bono legal service.
Together with our partners, we work to strengthen free, fair and informed societies around the world. That means societies that uphold fundamental rights and freedoms through accessible legal systems and corporate practices that respect human rights, and where accurate, balanced and impartial journalism drives transparency and accountability, and strengthens democracy.
Why this matters now
As autocracies increase around the world, journalists and civil society face legal harassment, intimidation, online attacks and financial collapse. Disinformation fuels distrust, while increasingly powerful players seek to silence democratic institutions.
But this is a unique opportunity. Journalism, law, and civil society are central pillars of democracy. When they are protected and supported, they can expose corruption, defend human rights, and ensure that people have the information they need to hold power to account.
Why partner with us
Partnering with us connects you to our vast global networks, with our teams located in more than 30 countries, including regional hubs in Kenya and India. With decades of experience delivering impactful programmes and convening diverse stakeholders, we bring unparalleled expertise and global reach to drive meaningful change.

Your partnership can help us:
Through our Legal Service for Independent Media, we harness our media and legal expertise – supported by the world’s largest pro bono legal network – to help journalists and newsrooms counter legal threats and maintain media viability.
In 2025, we trained 300+ journalists and supported 50+ media outlets around the world with editorial guidance and operational support, enabling them to uphold high reporting standards and run sustainable and efficient operations. Our vibrant alumni network totals more than 5,000 journalists, helping us to understand new and dominant issues impacting journalism and harness their insights to shape our programmes and provide data-led insights for the sector.
Last year, our legal networks provided more than $29 million in pro bono support for organisations on the frontlines of social and environmental change. Since 2010, we’ve provided $332 million in cumulative pro bono value, supporting civil society organisations and media to build capacity, confront attacks on their work and advance their missions.
Our data-led initiatives, the AI Company Data Initiative (AICDI) and Workforce Disclosure Initiative (WDI), use knowledge, transparency and collaboration to ensure that people and communities are at the centre of building inclusive economies. The AICDI is the world’s largest data repository mapping corporate AI adoption, revealing striking patterns in responsible AI practices across industries and regions.
Through flagship events like the Trust Conference and bespoke roundtables, we create spaces for dialogue, collaboration, and action on the world’s most pressing issues, including media freedom, human rights, and responsible business. Our ability to bring together voices from across sectors and geographies ensures that solutions are informed, inclusive, and impactful.
