Tendik Tynystanov
Tendik Tynystanov joined the Foundation in 2016. He is a highly accomplished leader with a background in strategy, programme management, impact assessment, and organisational effectiveness. He has worked in various capacities for the UK government, British Red Cross, European Commission, and various UN agencies. Tendik has extensive experience in driving organisational transformation, implementing performance management systems, and fostering strategic partnerships. He has a track record of delivering impact in the fields of journalism, policy reform, crisis management and resilience building.
A political scientist by training Tendik started his career as Information Analyst at UNDP. There he developed pioneering early warning systems and programme interventions for conflict prevention. Later he moved to work for the European Commission’s Directorate General for Education and Culture, where he shaped cooperation programmes between European universities and opened new funding streams for university reform in Central Asia.
He moved to the UK in 2006. He has sat on Boards and Advisory committees of leading thinks tanks and membership organisations. He founded a charity in Kyrgyzstan and set up and chaired an Academy for Teaching Excellence in Central Asia.
