With the support of the Thomson Reuters Foundation, Blueprint for Free Speech produced an in-depth analysis of the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 (PIDA), the UK law designed to protect whistleblowers from retaliation in the workplace. The report outlines the key failings of the law and proposes 20 reforms to ensure that whistleblowers in the UK are protected and disclosures in the public interest are supported. Importantly, the study acts as a blueprint for countries looking to draft best practice legislation.
