Message from Thomson Reuters Foundation CEO Antonio Zappulla in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic

As the situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19) develops, we wanted to keep you updated as to the measures we are taking to ensure the delivery of our services, as much as is possible, whilst prioritising the health of our workers and partners.

As a global organisation, we are continually guided by government and health policy in different regions, as it evolves in response to the crisis. This means that whilst some of our offices are open, others will close, with staff working from home to help prevent the spread of the virus.

In the meantime, we will do all we can to deliver our core services without compromising individuals’ health.

Our Pro Bono Legal Support (TrustLaw)

In times of crisis, a strong community that can offer help, advice and support is vital. Our global pro bono legal network TrustLaw will continue to operate as usual, connecting NGOs and social enterprises who may currently be facing unprecedented challenges with leading lawyers all over the world, who address their legal needs for free.

TrustLaw is cancelling all in-person events for the next two months. The rest of the work continues as normal. We will keep you posted as we monitor the situation and explore online and rescheduled alternatives.

Our Training Services

Due to international travel restrictions, we are postponing our journalism training courses for the next two months. We will be providing regular updates on individual courses with those affected. In the meantime, if you have any queries, please contact [email protected].

Our Trust Conference

Whilst events and public gatherings are being postponed over the next few weeks, we continue to plan for our annual human rights forum Trust Conference as normal. The event is scheduled for November 11 and 12 in London by which time we hope that the peak of the health crisis has passed. You can view our current agenda here, which we’ll keep updated.
