April 2018: The Thomson Reuters Foundation in partnership with IGLYO and important law firm partners is proud to release a legal analysis ofso-called ‘anti-LGBT propaganda’ laws, which explores the legal arguments surrounding current or proposed laws in nine jurisdictions which curtail the expression of LGBT culture and identity.

September 2018: This report investigates the international and domestic legal frameworks that govern hostage-taking and aims to identify the protection gap in the law. It also reveals some of the actions States have taken during their attempts to free nationals of the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, France, Germany, Sweden, Austria and the Netherlands.

Feb 2018: This report provides an overview of the legal justifications in the United States for extending existing protections for child abuse victim witnesses to domestic child sex trafficking victim witnesses, and highlight various states that have passed legislation to this effect. The report includes a review of the use of Closed Circuit Television as a protection mechanism, and also identify other methods that can be utilized to protect child victim witnesses in human trafficking cases.

This report focuses on the rights and protection of vulnerable victims in criminal proceedings highlighting the most relevant results from the implementation of the European Union’s Directive 2012/29/EU. Introduced on 25 October 2012, the Directive established minimum standards on the rights, support and protection of victims of crime in nine European Union Member States, including Spain, with a specific focus on victims with special protection needs.
