Mariam Tadros

Mariam is the Director of Programmes at the Thomson Reuters Foundation, responsible for the programmatic delivery of programmes, oversight of the programmes team and a member of the Foundation’s Senior Leadership.

Prior to this, Mariam was the Regional Director for Asia-MENA at International Alert, a Global Peacebuilding NGO. She was responsible for the strategic oversight and effective management of Alert’s work across the Asia-MENA region. She worked alongside country leads and teams to implement impactful peacebuilding programmes in Lebanon, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Syria, and Tunisia.

Before joining Alert, Mariam was the co-lead for Tearfund’s Fragile States and Peacebuilding Unit, working directly with grassroots peacebuilders and local NGOs addressing the root causes of conflict; as well as spending several years in humanitarian programming in West, Central and East Africa, the Kurdish region of Iraq, and Latin America.

She is a graduate in Theology and Religious Studies, and a postgrad of Conflict Regulation in Divided Societies.

Mariam was born in the UK to Egyptian parents, and is bilingual in Arabic and English.

Chief Financial Officer

Seema Soni

Seema Soni

Seema Soni is the Chief Financial Officer at the Thomson Reuters Foundation, where she oversees the organisation’s financial strategy, planning, reporting and taxation. Her responsibilities include ensuring compliance, governance, and managing banking and treasury functions.

Before joining the Thomson Reuters Foundation, Seema held several leadership roles within the charitable sector. At the British Council, she spearheaded major transformation and automation projects and established the finance Shared Services Centre in India. Prior to that, she served as the Global Financial Controller at the British Council and Assistant Director of Finance at HelpAge International. Seema began her career in the voluntary sector, working with various charities in Kenya.

Nick Glicher

Nick Glicher

Nick Glicher is COO of the Thomson Reuters Foundation, the corporate foundation of the global news and information services company. Through news, media development, free legal assistance and convening initiatives, the Thomson Reuters Foundation combines its unique services to advance media freedom, raise awareness of human rights issues, and foster more inclusive economies.

Nick has a special focus on social innovation and the impact economy, slavery and transparency in supply chains, and corporate philanthropy. He has spoken at events including Social Capital Markets (SOCAP), Impact Investing Summit, Social Enterprise World Forum, Innovation Forum, and the Arab World Social Innovation Forum.

Prior to his present role, Nick was Director of TrustLaw, the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s global legal pro bono service, and Head of African Programmes, based in Johannesburg. Nick is a qualified solicitor in England & Wales specialising in finance and banking law and has worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland and in the London and Chicago offices of Mayer Brown.

Nick is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Non-Executive Director of The Social Innovation Partnership, and a Board Member of the Impact Terms Project. He also sits on the investment committee at Tshiamo Impact Partners.

Chief Executive Officer

Antonio Zappulla

Antonio Zappulla OMRI

Antonio Zappulla is CEO at the Thomson Reuters Foundation, the corporate philanthropic arm of Thomson Reuters and a leading international development actor fostering free, fair, and informed societies through media and legal initiatives and data intelligence.

In 2022, Antonio was knighted as an Officer of the Italian Republic for “merit acquired in the fields of public service, and social, philanthropic and humanitarian activities” under the OMRI order, the highest-ranking honour of the Italian Republic. In 2018, he ranked first in the OUTstanding list of third sector LGBT executives published by the Financial Times. In 2017, he was named a European Young Leader by Friends of Europe.

Antonio sits on the Boards of the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford and the International News Safety Institute.

Prior to his present role, Antonio was Executive Producer at Bloomberg Television in charge of news, factual programming for Europe, Middle East and Africa, developing several Award-winning TV series distributed globally.

Antonio holds a Degree in Journalism, a Master’s Degree in Middle East studies, and has continued his executive education at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
