Murshed Anwar

Murshed Anwar is a Director and General Counsel of the Thomson Reuters Foundation, where he leads all legal affairs for the organisation, acting as its most senior legal adviser across all matters affecting our work globally.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Murshed trained as a solicitor at Linklaters before building a career across some of the world’s most prominent global finance and wealth management institutions, including BlackRock and Smith & Williamson, where he spent nearly a decade as a Director developing deep expertise in M&A, commercial law and financial services regulation.

Murshed then transitioned into the international development sector, bringing his legal expertise to bear on issues of global impact through consultancy roles with UNICEF and BRAC. He joined the Thomson Reuters Foundation in 2021.

Murshed holds an LLB in Law from the University of Southampton and a PGDL from the University of Oxford.
