These legal guidelines aim to support newsrooms in Kenya and Tanzania to navigate the opportunities and risks associated with common uses of AI in their work, by outlining the emerging regulatory and legal frameworks that apply and providing examples of editorial policy that ensure responsible uses of AI in news production which comply with the applicable laws and standards.
