Our Wealth of Nations Programme, funded by generous support from Norad, took home the British Expertise International Award for best International Capacity Building Project on April 5th, 2017.

Wealth of Nations (WoN) works with the Africa’s leading journalists and media organisations to expose those responsible for abusing tax and plundering assets.

The amounts lost are far in excess of the sums received by Africa in the form of foreign aid and remittances, and yet this phenomenon is rarely the subject of in-depth media investigation.

WoN has engaged 145 journalists and 12 newsrooms over 3 years, building key capacity in the media, and has raised greater awareness among citizens and decision makers across 36 countries. In reporting illicit finance, 425 stories were published in local and international media outlets.
