How do we defend democracy and trust in the face of rising disinformation? What does responsible business look like in an era of technological transformation? And how can we harness the immense promise of AI while mitigating the risks it poses?
Trust Conference 2024 will discuss these questions and more. Join us for the annual flagship event from the Thomson Reuters Foundation on 22 and 23 October at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in London.
What to expect at Trust Conference 2024
Trust Conference is a pivotal global forum dedicated to tackling critical issues at the intersection of independent media, access to law and responsible business. The annual event brings together world-class speakers and a highly informed audience from across the fields of media, law, politics, diplomacy, business, technology and civil society. It serves as a key platform for collaboration and thought leadership among experts, innovators and activists at the forefront of global efforts to build free, fair and informed societies.
This year, Day One will explore the multifaceted challenges to global democracy as AI becomes increasingly integrated into our digital landscape. We will examine how media professionals and newsrooms can ensure the core values of good journalism remain intact as they enter a new phase of radical transformation. We will then hear about the challenges faced by media in exile and journalists reporting from conflict and explore innovative strategies to counter legal attacks against those defending media freedom.
On Day Two, we will turn our focus to the wider societal impact of AI and the role that responsible business can play in the wake of global transformations. We will discuss international frameworks for AI governance, explore the ethical challenges of AI’s integration into the corporate sector, and look at how AI is transforming the legal profession, assessing whether its adoption is democratising access to the law or creating new barriers.
We will also unveil the latest insights from the Workforce Disclosure Initiative, the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s leading voluntary corporate disclosure platform representing over 10 million workers, and we will discuss the future of responsible business in an increasingly polarized world.
Registrations for Trust Conference 2024 are now closed due to capacity. Be the first to hear about Trust Conference 2025.
